KNOW. INTERPRET. BEHOLD.

What We Believe

We stand within the historic Christian faith expressed in the Nicene Creed and are committed to creating resources rooted in Scripture, centered on Christ, and faithful to the good news of the gospel.

Our Theological Commitments

Scripture

We believe the Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God, trustworthy and true in all that it teaches. Scripture is our ultimate authority for what we believe and how we live, and through it God reveals himself, his purposes, and his redemptive story.

The Triune God

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—equal in glory and divine nature. God is the Creator and Sustainer of all things and is worthy of all worship, honor, and praise.

The Gospel

We believe humanity was created in the image of God but has been separated from him by sin. Salvation is the gracious work of God, accomplished through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We are reconciled to God by grace through faith in Christ—not by our own merit or works.

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God and is at work in and among God's people. He indwells believers, illuminates Scripture, produces spiritual fruit, gives gifts for the building up of the church, and empowers God's people to follow Christ and bear faithful witness to him.

The Church

We believe all who belong to Christ are united as his body, the Church. God's people are called to gather in worship, grow in the knowledge and love of God, make disciples, love and serve one another, and proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ to the world.

The Kingdom to Come

We believe Jesus Christ will return in glory. We look forward to the resurrection of the dead, the final defeat of sin and death, and the fullness of God's kingdom in the new creation, where God will dwell with his people forever.

THE NICENE CREED

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

*The use of the word “catholic” is in reference to the universal Church.
